It’s funny really that we’re telling our story about how we met because I had decided not to renew my subscription on the site as I felt it wasn’t working. However, I was at home one night a few days after it had run out and I decided to sign up for one more month and give it a go. That weekend I spotted Alan on the site and his photo looked nice so I sent him a wink and see what happened. Well it paid off because he contacted me back and the rest as they say is history…
It’s four years since we met, our first date was December 4th 2006. We had been chatting on site for a few weeks and swapped phone numbers and arranged to meet for coffee. However, I had to cancel twice as things came up so I thought Alan wouldn’t want to know me but luckily he did and when we did have our first date it was great. It started with a coffee and we ended up going for dinner and then Alan dropped me home. Our second date came a few days later, when he picked me up from the train station in Dublin after a work party in Wexford and we spent the day together. It just felt right and progressed from that. I moved in after 18 months in June 2008.Then we got engaged in March 2009 and married in August 2010. I’m really glad I did renew my membership after all because if I hadn’t I’d never had met Alan and we wouldn’t have this great story to tell!

However, we nearly didn’t meet that night as Jenna was waiting for me downstairs in the bar and I was upstairs at the event so when she finally came up after a while I was very relieved as I was starting to think I had been stood up! It was worth the wait though as we got on great and chatted all night and I knew then it was right. After that we went on another date and we are very very happy. It’s just over 4 months now since we met and Jenna is in the process of moving in with me. I see a lot for us in the future. I don’t believe in jumping into marriage so it’s important to see how things go but I’m here for good and that’s for sure.

We met on anotherfriend.com 3 years ago. We emailed each other for a couple of months before meeting. She was in Dublin and I in Wexford, we started off our email relationship saying that we would never meet, so that we could be completely honest and ask those 'awkward' questions that you could ask a stranger but wouldn't ask your friends!
We eventually met and me being a stickler for safety insisted that I pick her up at her parents house and I showed her my driving licence to prove that I was who I said I was!
We dated for about 11 months and I asked her to marry me just a few weeks after we decided to buy a house together, she thankfully said yes!! We think ourselves incredibly fortunate to have found each other and a huge, immense thank you has to go to anotherfriend.com for helping us!
Rick & Mia
We were both looking through the site for possible partners. She went through the "Quick Match" and my "wonderful" picture came up. We started sending emails and then long phone conversations. She went over to Ireland shortly after and we lost touch until she came back several weeks later. We met shortly thereafter and on Thanksgiving Day I proposed to her and she accepted. We were married on June 19th. It's all because of AF!

I joined another friend in 2003 and met many nice people and friends. I got an email of nice gay and we mailed for a while I remember he asked me to meet him and I turned him down as it was my Dads 50th Bday and we were having a family dinner.
We arranged to meet several times and with one thing or another it just never happened so after three weeks We finally got to meet on the 31st of Oct 2004 it was Halloween and we arranged to meet for lunch it was a sunday Htut was living in Dublin at the time and me in Portlaoise so he said he would come down on the train.
I remember when he got of the train he handed me roses in a lovely blue bag from M&S we want for lunch to our local hotel in portloise and we got on really well I never thought that anything would never come of it.
Htut lived in Dublin and worked up there so to meet up during the week it was hard so we started to spend weekends together.
I introduced him to my family on News Yrs day 2004 when I brought him to my parents for dinner.
In March 05 he moved down to Partlaoise to be with me, he travelled to work daily by train.
Htut proposed to me in April 05 and I accepted and we married on the 20th Oct 06 and have being very Happy every since.
I never thought in my life I could meet anyone on the internet and marry them and be so Happy.
